Five special cigars that will help me celebrate through 2022

2022 sees the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. This is among several celebrations that will see me picking out some special cigars to light up and help me celebrate. Often, wedding cigars, christening cigars, and those smoked at other landmark occasions have more of a premium attached to them, but this doesn’t always have to be the case. Here I have listed five smokes that I would class as celebration cigars that don’t break the bank.

Aging Room Quattro Nicaragua Maestro

This beautiful maduro torpedo cigar made Cigar Aficionados Cigar of the Year back in 2019. Having smoked and reviewed it myself, this is definitely one of the special cigars that I am lighting up during 2022. Smooth and full of flavour, the Aging Room Quattro Nicaraguan Maestro cigar has been perfectly crafted to enhance any occasion and make it a doubly memorable one.

Epic Corojo Lancero

I do love a Lancero, and the Epic Corojo Lancero is up there amongst my favourites. With it’s elegant vitola and cute pigtail cap, cutting and lighting up this cigar always brings a smile to my face. Since I first sampled this delightful cigar, there have been a number of occasions that I have marked with this particular cigar, and I can guarantee you that there will be plenty more in the future.

Por Larranaga Petit Corona

Any list of celebration cigars would feel incomplete without at least one Cuban cigar on it and my pick is the Por Larranaga Petit Corona. Light and creamy with just a soupcon of peppery spice, this short smoke would be perfect for lighting up during a quite half hour during your special occasion, or handing around and sharing with others to introduce curious newbies to the amazing world of cigars and cigar smoking.

Rolando Soto Midnight Habano

Rolando Soto blends his cigars with specific occasions in mind. In Rolando’s own words, the Midnight Habano Limited Edition is “designed to be smoked at the end of an evening as you look at the stars and reminisce about the day” and feels like a fitting choice for my list of special cigars. With the perfect balance of sweet and spicy flavours, this beautiful, carefully crafted cigar would make the perfect nightcap to a special occation.

Oliva Serie V Melanio Natural Robusto

This cigar is held in high regard amongst cigar industry professionals and aficionados alike, myself included. Coming in at Number 4 in my Top Nine Cigars of 2021, it would be rude not to include the Oliva Serie V Melanio Natural Robusto on this list as well. Rest assured that this cigar will be packed into my travel humidor as one of my special cigars that will help me celebrate an important occasion at some point this year.
